Qualifications and Teaching
I have studied privately for 5 years with contemporary voice expert Irene Bartlett. I then went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in music studies (vocal pedagogy) contemporary-voice at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
I have a large, fully equipped private studio, teaching students of all ages and levels from beginners to professionals. I am a full member of ANATS (Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing) and regularly attend Master classes, lectures and seminars in order to keep up to date with the latest discoveries and developments in vocal science and the art of singing.
Performance
My love of singing and performing began at the age of 9 when I was enrolled in the West End Little Theatre in Brisbane. From there I performed in many talent quests and singing competitions including the lead role in 2 School Musicals.
At the age of 19 I joined my first professional working show band and toured throughout the country including shows at Twin Towns and Expo 88. I later became interested in Jazz and became a member of a resident trio at the Coronation Hotel – Brisbane. I was there for 18 months before I joined the cast of Brentliegh Theatre Restaurant. During that same year I performed on television on several occasions.
The following year I was offered a Residency on Hayman Island. I later spent time in Italy performing as a solo artist before moving to the Gold Coast where I currently work with duos, trios and an 18 piece Big Band. I sing everything from Pop, Jazz, R&B and Music Theatre
